My Story

For almost 3 decades now I have been self-employed taking on projects with many different clients around the world, as I built Gray Star Design to what it is today. I am very grateful for the work that has come my way and feel so lucky to be able to do what I love. Happy you decided to stop by. I look forward to working with you!

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Jersey, I explored all areas of art since I was a child. From coloring to taking every art class I could in school, it was the only thing I ever wanted to do. Having a creative outlet was my heaven. I eventually graduated with a BFA in Graphic Design from New Jersey City University in 2006 but studied various subjects such as photography, creative writing, philosophy, and illustration.

My first full-time job was with a small company in Westbury, New York where I mainly designed women’s accessories. This entailed digital illustration and a lot of print materials. Sadly, I got laid off after 6 months, which put me in a very bad position. I decided to be my own boss and freelance moving forward. And that was how Gray Star Design was born.

I have worked for clients in all types of fields which has given me a wide range of projects to apply my aesthetic. I have experience in all types of graphic design and the arts.

I like to think I bring a lot to the table when working with a client.

Besides my graphic art skills and experience in the field, my love for fine arts, photography, and creative writing gives me a nice well-rounded perspective when tackling a project. I am also proud to say that 90% of my clients are women who all do a great service to their communities and beyond. I have a lot of experience working with coaches, therapists, and instructors in various fields. Supporting them and helping their businesses grow through design means the world to me.

I live and work in Patchogue, New York with my husband Dan, son Elliot (5.22.16), and dog Olive. Both vegetarian (2009) and eco-conscious, I do my best to live the most natural, organic life I can, and now create that same environment for our son. I also homeschool our son and love it. I am truly dedicated to giving him a unique and fun learning experience, which you can see on my IG account. Besides design, my hobbies include photography, reading, writing, interior design, and cooking. I love music and used to play bass in a band when I lived in Jersey and I sing and dance every chance I get.

Working with me is like teaming up with a friend, I am easy-going, honest, and kind. My mission is to bring beauty to as many lives as I can through art and design. I look forward to working with you!

In 2019, Gray Star Design got an upgrade and its own studio! This is where all the magic happens. I am so grateful to have a private space to work and grow my business. I simply love it and look forward to many years of creating here.
